Overview

Job Title – Trainee Marketing Assistant

Hours – 25 per week

Location – Home Based (equipment provided)

Duration – 6 Months

This role is new and has been created to support the growing marketing requirement at Innovation Visual. This is a responsible position for a keen, creative and self-motivated marketer looking to gain hands-on experience of both digital and traditional marketing. The role involves supporting the Commercial and Marketing Manager in the creation and implementation of the marketing strategy for Innovation Visual. It includes development of written content, work on social media, writing for web, research, email marketing, planning and some design. This is not an exhaustive list however and every day will be different as new projects, challenges and opportunities arise. We have a programme of ongoing skills training and as a company every team member is expected to complete at least 8hrs (pro rata) of training a month.

That means, in a nutshell, that we work for a range of clients to improve the way they perform online in order to increase sales and deliver brand awareness for them. We have offices in Elstead, Surrey but the team of 14 works from home, using the office as necessary. What you'll Do

  • You will support the CEO and Commercial & Marketing Manager to develop and implement a marketing strategy for Innovation Visual for 2021 and beyond.

  • You will play a key role in the day-to-day implementation of that marketing strategy.

  • The marketing strategy, in accordance with the inbound marketing methodology, will rely heavily on a varied but closely targeted content strategy which you will be asked to help research, plan and write. All written content will be aligned to the existing brand style, tone and personality.

  • You will take day-to-day responsibility for the company’s social media. Researching and creating posts and images designed to promote the business, share knowledge and drive measurable engagement.

  • You will also be involved in the company’s email marketing, using platforms such as HubSpot (full training will be provided).

  • You will be responsible for liaising with the team to make sure that the company blog remains current and interesting. You will prepare some content yourself, but other pieces you will need to work with your team members to prepare.

  • You will support the Commercial & Marketing Manager to devise, plan and implement campaigns that are commonly designed to target a specific segment of our target market and drive traffic to the site with the aim of generating conversions and leads for the sales team to pursue.

  • You will be responsible for background research on some leads (Companies that enquire about or indicate interest in our services), designed to support the sales team in their efforts.

  • You will also help maintain the quality and completeness of our CRM data.

  • You will be responsible for following a system to file and store all marketing assets and materials.

  • You will help moderate the content that we use, proofreading, fact and sense checking all content before it is used.

  • You will also be involved in the preparation of reports to the Management Team on the Marketing Team’s activity and achievements

  • You will join all team Zoom and Teams meetings and play an integrated part in our dynamic team.

It’s worth remembering that this list isn’t exhaustive and that this is a new role with huge potential for growth. No day will be the same and it is very likely that, in time, you will be asked to help in a wide variety of projects, not just for Innovation Visual but for our clients as well.

What you will learnWhat you will Learn

The role is designed to help you develop under the Government Kickstarter Scheme. As an organisation we have a strong emphasis on training and learning and this role is no exception. As part of this role we would expect you to get at least 3x industry recognised Google Qualifications and at least 5x industry recognised HubSpot Qualifications.

You will be trained in the following platforms as a minimum:

  • Google Ads
  • Google Analytics
  • HubSpot (Marketing Pro, CMS and Sales
  • Process Street
  • LastPass
  • Paymo
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop primarily)

About You

  • You’ll have excellent writing skills (English), be great with grammar, spelling and able to write in a number of styles according to the audience and purpose of the piece.
  • You will also be a meticulous proof-reader, accurate, particular and with immense attention to detail.
  • You’ll be a good communicator, confident and able to work as part of a team but equally happy working alone.
  • You will have a knack for learning fast and being quick to pick up new platforms and systems
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and having a great work ethic are key.
  • You will have familiarity with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and be comfortable with learning the range of digital systems that you will use within the role.
  • Experience with a range of social media such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn is an advantage

Education and Experience

  • A-Level English, Grade C or above (or equivalent). We will ask for an example of creative writing as part of the selection process.
  • Marketing qualifications of any type, specifically digital, are an advantage.
